Rainbow Schools charity supports all vulnerable children, namely the disabled and orphaned.

Our focus is to provide an inclusive learning environment so that all children can aim high and achieve their full potential.

Our fully inclusive and integrated school will provide individualised learning where each child has their own specially tailored learning programme supported by caring professionals and excellent modern resources.

Despite the recent changes in law that makes it a right for each child to be educated in mainstream schools, the reality is very different.

The vast majority of disabled children are in special schools or centres and there is not enough capacity for them all so many are kept at home or much worse, are on the streets – homeless.

Having a disabled child in India is a big TABOO. Many parents are told that their disabled child is punishment from past lives, that their child is a curse. They feel a sense of shame in society and many do not let their children out of their houses in fear that they will have to hear abuse and derogatory comments from their neighbours, friends and extended family.

Often the mother is blamed for giving birth to such a child.

Rainbow Schools aims to change perspectives and negative societal beliefs, to empower parents and their children, build their confidence by encouraging parent support groups and holding events and functions to celebrate achievements of ALL children.

To build and run a unique new school where all children will be educated alongside each other using the latest research based interventions, methods and therapies.

One that will inspire other schools and eventually become a teaching school to train teachers in the art of inclusive education.
